Wow. I already had to update this post because the Cthulhu Saves the World Kickstarter has met its goal. Still, it’s a worthy enterprise, so I’m still going to let this run.
Zeboyd Games, the creators of Cthulhu Saves the World Video Game for 360 (and adorable video), have put up a Kickstarter to help fund their project to enhance the 360 game and turn it into a PC game too.
Why not just use the profits of the original 360 game? Because they only get profits every quarter and they won’t see most of the money from the initial sales until later this spring. They explain more on their site.
As an incentive to contribute, they’re giving out rewards to backers. These range from a credit in and copy of the PC game (for donors of $25 or more) to a signed poster ($100 or more) to a special Cthulhu doll from me (a special design I worked with them on) for people who pledge $250 or more. And for anyone who pledges $750 or more…you get to be a townsperson! There are other ranges and rewards in between, those are just some of the ones which caught my interest. You also get all previous rewards, so a townsperson would also get a Cthulhu doll, poster, credit in/copy of the PC game and more.
The project has already been funded in the 2 days it’s been up, but one hopes that more money means more development, so if you’re interested in a reward or have something to give why not go over and check it out. I don’t have a 360, so I’m very excited and looking forward to playing the PC version!
